The Senior/Graduate Prep Guide

I am so excited for your upcoming Senior Session! For some of you, this may be your first time having a professional portrait session! If it is, do not worry about being nervous. I am here to show you how to pose and I will make sure you have an amazing Senior/Graduate Experience.

Do not worry about posing or feeling awkward in-front of the camera because I will guide you through the entire process. I do not provide the use of props for my sessions, however, if you have something in mind that you would like to bring, let me know. At the end of your session, you will have professional images to remember this special milestone in your life. Below are a few tips to help you prepare for your session.

Location: Together, we will decide on the best location for your photos. I have some beautiful locations that I love to shoot at, but I am open to shooting in new locations that represents you. If you need help deciding on a location I can definitely give you suggestions based on your personality, style and attire.

Time: The images in my gallery look the way they do largely because of my use of light. The time of day your session takes place has a huge impact. Since we will be shooting outdoors, we will shoot either in the morning or in the evening. The light is typically too harsh mid day (unless there is an overcast or we are shooting at a nature park/location with tall buildings). The typical times for shoots will either be around 2 hours after sunrise or 2-3 hours before sunset.

Length of Session: The session time is based on your collection choice. During your session time, I will get a diverse and adequate gallery that represents you as an individual.

Use this time to go SHOPPING! Your wardrobe should be flattering, comfortable and reflect your personal style. If you love to dress up, choose dressy attire. If you love a more causal look, choose causal attire that works for you. I am happy to consult with you directly on wardrobe. Just let me know.

To the ladies: Use this session as an excuse to get your hair, makeup and nails professionally done. I want you to look and feel your absolute best.

I do not provide the use of props for my sessions, however if you have something in mind that you would like to bring, please let me know. If you decide to bring props, think of things that relate to your hobbies or extracurricular activities that you are involved in. If you decide not to bring props, that is totally fine too!

Please arrive on time or be ready to start on time. Remember, your session is scheduled according to light. It is important that we start on time. Please plan for traffic or parking constraints. It is best to arrive early. To get the most out of your session, make sure you are well rested and hydrated. It is not a fun experience if you are tired and hungry during the session.

Within 2-3 weeks of your session, you will receive a private gallery for downloading and ordering professional prints & products. All professional prints and products will be shipped directly to you.
